Flames
By John Trent
Autumn's hands caress the marshy landscape
White ribbons drape the blue of heaven
White ribbons drape the blue of heaven
A faint scent of pine holds light the breeze
As the chill of late day enshrouds the grove
Horizon’s haze ignites in fiery brilliance
As waves of flames roll across the sky
Zeus stokes his forge on heaven’s mount
His grip tightens with dark's steady approach
Twilight's red blaze explodes in grandeur
Glowing embers drift God's empyrean sea
As the chill of late day enshrouds the grove
Horizon’s haze ignites in fiery brilliance
As waves of flames roll across the sky
Zeus stokes his forge on heaven’s mount
His grip tightens with dark's steady approach
Twilight's red blaze explodes in grandeur
Glowing embers drift God's empyrean sea
Night's shadow envelops to extinguish the flames
as fall settles on the sylvan wood
as fall settles on the sylvan wood
