The Rose

Deep, so very deep
Emotions clash
Her visage reflects
Within these opened eyes
Each wilted pedal
Revealed by a tear
Clears youth’s haze
To expose the end
Our rose a remnant
Remains, but frail
As sharp thorns remind
Of love’s impermanence
