Invisible
by John Trent
Stagnant darkness
Drifting hazy, the amber light
Illumines leafed edges
As I sit
I watch
In the humid heat
Upon a wooden bench
Slow, so slow
His contemplative steps
A filtered shadow
Of refracting thoughts
From a faceless form
Inhaling
Red ember glows
Footsteps fade
To muffled echoes
A familiar scent
Lingering
On a ghostly trail
I sit
Wondering with each minute’s passing
Distant laughter
Love’s hand in hand
Effortlessly
Drawing near
Whispering
Faceless, their eye’s meet
With glowing smiles
Shadows blend
Young love replays
I reminisce
Invisible, I fade
In dark's passing
Forever alone
On a wooden bench
